Here's my somewhat unorthodox schedule for KTM-9 developed through trying stuff:
1) ROS sand the finish all the way up to Festool Platin 4000, which is similar to Abralon I believe.
2) ROS with foam pad and Finesse It II
3) ROS with new foam pad and Perfect It II
4) Menzerna Fine dry compound with buff hand held drill
5) Menzerna Glans Wachs with buff in hand held drill
You may (or may not) recall from a past thread that I had a problem with "imprinting" on that finish, and I'm still working at figuring out the cause. My current guess is that some of the petroleum-based substances found in the 3M compounds may have temporarily softened the surface of the KTM-9. One thing I'm going to try is to forgo the 3M compounds and instead start with a couple of the coarser Menzerna compounds.Pete Licis38895.6171180556
